Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a wide range of clinical issues including, but not limited to depression and anxiety. Numerous research studies suggest that CBT leads to significant improvement in functioning and quality of life. In many studies, CBT has been demonstrated to be as effective as, or more effective than, other forms of psychological therapy or psychiatric medications.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a psychological intervention that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies, together with commitment and behavior change strategies, to increase psychological flexibility. Psychological flexibility means contacting the present moment fully as a conscious human being, and based on what the situation affords, changing or persisting in behavior in the service of chosen values.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a cognitive behavioral treatment that was originally developed to treat chronically suicidal individuals diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and it is now recognized as the gold standard psychological treatment for this population. In addition, research has shown DBT is effective in treating a wide range of other disorders and is considered to be a transdiagnostic, modular treatment.
Exposure and Response Prevention
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a form of cognitive behavioral treatment used to treat a variety of conditions, including anxiety and phobias. It is considered the gold standard treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Prolonged Exposure
Prolonged Exposure (PE) is a type of cognitive behavioral intervention that teaches individuals to gradually approach trauma-related memories, feelings and situations. It is strongly recommended for the treatment of PTSD.
